In February this year, Turkey's rebar exports amounted to 806,836 metric tons, increasing by 14.6 percent year on year and up 48.8 percent from the previous month, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). Meanwhile, the revenue generated by these exports totaled $385.5 million, decreasing by 5.45 percent compared to February 2014 and up 45.5 percent from the previous month.
In the January-February period, Turkey's rebar exports increased by 1.4 percent year on year to 1.34 million mt, while the value of these exports stood at $647.5 million, down 15 percent compared to the corresponding quarter of 2014.
In the January-February period of the current year, Turkey's largest rebar export destination was the US which received 278,006 metric tons, up 83.47 percent year on year. The US was followed by the UAE with 243,189 metric tons, up 102.7 percent, and Yemen with 159,359 metric tons, up 40.7 percent, both on year-on-year basis.
