Turkey's rebar exports up 12.87 percent in January

In January of the current year, Turkey's rebar exports amounted to 624,202 metric tons, increasing by 12.87 percent year on year and down 16.28 percent from the previous month, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). Meanwhile, the revenue generated by these exports totaled $361.85 million, increasing by 11.22 percent compared to January 2013 and down 16.62 percent from the previous month.

In January, Turkey's largest rebar export destination was Iraq, which received 101,305 metric tons, up 1.04 percent year on year. Iraq was followed by Yemen with 94,495 metric tons, up 45.47 percent and Israel with 64,947 metric tons, up 116.17 percent, both on year-on-year basis. Meanwhile, in the given month, Turkey's rebar exports to the US increased by an impressive 255.80 percent year on year, amounting to 48,108 metric tons.
