Turkey’s rebar exports down six percent in Q1

In March this year, Turkey's rebar exports amounted to 600,011 metric tons, down 9.75 percent compared to February and falling by 5.7 percent year on year, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). Meanwhile, the revenue generated by these exports totaled $245.4 million, increasing by 17 percent compared to March 2016 and down 11.8 percent month on month.

In the first three months of the current year, Turkey's rebar export volume amounted to 1.83 million mt, falling by six percent, while the value of these exports increased by 20 percent to $763.5 million, both year on year.

In the given period, Turkey's largest rebar export destination was the US which received 319,203 metric tons, up 4.44 percent year on year. The US was followed by Yemen with 249,771 metric tons and Israel with 161,433 metric tons.
