Turkey’s rebar exports down 2.3 percent in January-August

In August this year, Turkey's rebar exports amounted to 584,649 metric tons, down 0.2 percent compared to July and falling by 7.5 percent year on year, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). Meanwhile, the revenue generated by these exports totaled $226.2 million, decreasing by 12 percent compared to August 2015 and down five percent month on month.

In the January-August period of this year, Turkey's rebar exports amounted to 4.73 million mt, falling by 2.3 percent, while the value of these exports decreased by 18.4 percent to $1.77 billion, both year on year.
 
In the given period, Turkey's largest rebar export destination was the UAE which received 978,099 metric tons, down 4.97 percent year on year. The UAE was followed by the US with 910,212 metric tons and Egypt with 569,245 metric tons.
