Turkey’s rebar exports down 1.7 percent in H1

In June this year, Turkey's rebar exports amounted to 656,148 metric tons, up 14 percent compared to May and rising by 24.33 percent year on year, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). Meanwhile, the revenue generated by these exports totaled $287.7 million, increasing by 23.11 percent compared to June 2015 and up 21.8 percent month on month.

 

In the January-June period of this year, Turkey's rebar exports amounted to 3.58 million mt, falling by 1.7 percent, while the value of these exports decreased by 21.6 percent to $1.31 billion, both compared to the same period of the previous year.
 
In the given period, Turkey's largest rebar export destination was the US which received 739,039 metric tons, up 14.95 percent year on year. The US was followed by the UAE with 706,901 metric tons and Egypt with 455,357 metric tons.
