According to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in July this year Turkey's rebar (including round bar) exports amounted to 668,380 metric tons, increasing by 24.7 percent year on year but down 10 percent from the previous month. Meanwhile, the revenue generated by these exports totaled $416.4 million, rising by 14 percent compared to July 2011 and down 11.7 percent from the previous month.
On the other hand, in the first seven months of the current year Turkey's rebar exports stood at 5 million metric tons, up 25.9 percent year on year, while the total revenue of these exports amounted to $3.2 billion, increasing by 24.4 percent as compared to January-July 2011.
In the January-July period this year, Turkey's rebar exports to the US, one of the largest rebar export destinations of Turkey, increased 77.9 percent, while rebar exports to the UAE decreased by 35.2 percent, both compared to the same period last year.
