According to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in September this year Turkey's rebar (including round bar) exports amounted to 669,287 metric tons, increasing by eight percent compared to the previous month and up 20.5 percent year on year. Meanwhile, the revenue generated by these exports totaled $410.5 million, rising by 8.8 percent compared to the previous month and up 5.4 percent from September 2011.
On the other hand, in the first three quarters of the current year Turkey's rebar exports stood at 6.3 million metric tons, up 26.8 percent year on year, while the total revenue from these exports amounted to $4 billion, increasing by 22.45 percent as compared to January-September 2011.
Turkey rebar exports in the third quarter of this year amounted to 1.96 million mt, decreasing 6.4 percent compared to the previous quarter and up 29.7 percent year on year. The quarter-on-quarter decline in Turkey's rebar exports followed the decrease seen in the second quarter compared to first quarter levels.
In the third quarter of this year, Turkey's rebar exports to the Middle East totaled 1.2 million mt, amounting to 62.5 percent of the country's total rebar exports and rising on quarter-on-quarter basis for the fourth consecutive quarter since the strong fall recorded in the third quarter of 2011.
