According to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in the first three months this year Turkey's pre-painted galvanized iron (PPGI) exports amounted to 24,997 mt, decreasing by 4.6 percent, while the revenue from these exports totaled $22.7 million, down 18.6 percent, both on year-on-year basis.
In March this year, Turkey's PPGI exports decreased by 28.6 percent year on year to 9,703 metric tons. The revenue from these exports amounted to $8.7 million, down 37.1 percent year on year.
Azerbaijan was Turkey's leading PPGI export destination in the January-March period, with imports of 3,954 mt of PPGI from Turkey, up 2.49 percent year on year. In the given quarter, Azerbaijan was followed by Morocco and Bulgaria, with Morocco's PPGI imports from Turkey amounting to 2,745 mt, while Bulgaria received 2,191 mt of PPGI from Turkey in this period, up 44.14 percent year on year.
