Turkey’s PPGI exports decrease by 41.3 percent in January-May

According to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in May this year Turkey's pre-painted galvanized iron (PPGI) exports amounted to 5,594 mt, falling by 12.2 percent compared to the previous month and down 56 percent year on year, while the revenue from these exports totaled $5 million, down 9.1 percent month on month and falling 56.3 percent compared to the same month of 2015. 
 
During the first five months of the current year, Turkey’s PPGI exports decreased by 41.3 percent to 28,657 mt, while the revenue from these exports amounted to $23.8 million, down 46.5 percent, both year on year.
 
Bulgaria was Turkey's leading PPGI export destination in the January-May period, with imports of 4,292 mt of PPGI from Turkey. In the given period, Bulgaria was followed by Algeria and Bosnia-Herzegovina, with Algeria’s PPGI imports from Turkey amounting to 2,293 mt, while Bosnia-Herzegovina received 1,738 mt of PPGI from Turkey in this period.
