According to the customs statistics provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in July this year Turkey's pig iron imports amounted to 109,187 metric tons, increasing by 22.33 percent as compared to June this year.
In July, Turkey's average pig iron import price stood at $555.19/mt, increasing by 11.2 percent or $55.9/mt compared to the previous month.
In January-July period of the current year, Turkey imported 549,591 mt of pig iron with an average import price of $532/mt. The figure increased by 19.28 percent or $86/mt compared to the same period last year.
Turkey's top pig iron source in July this year was Russia which exported 71,187 mt of pig iron to Turkey, with an increase of 73.23 percent compared to June this year.
