According to the customs statistics provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in June this year Turkey's pig iron imports amounted to 89,258 metric tons, increasing by 130.33 percent as compared to May this year.
In June, Turkey's average pig iron import price stood at $499.29/mt, declining by 8.15 percent or $44.28/mt compared to the previous month.
In the January-June period, Turkey's pig iron imports amounted 440,403 mt with an average pig iron import price at $526/mt, increasing by 4.78 percent or $24/mt compared to the same period last year.
Turkey's top pig iron source in June this year was Ukraine which exported 42,125 mt of pig iron to Turkey. Russia followed Ukraine which exported 41,093 mt pig iron to Turkey in the given month.
