In April this year, Turkey's pig iron imports amounted to 48,341 mt, down 46.8 percent year on year, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). The total value of Turkey's pig iron imports in the given month decreased by 19.4 percent year on year to $17.33 million.
In the first four months of the current year, Turkey's pig iron imports decreased by 35 percent to 258,119 mt, while the revenue from these imports amounted to $84.2 million, down 2.22 percent, both year on year.
In the given period, Turkey imported 131,424 metric tons of pig iron from Russia, down 8.62 percent year on year. Russia ranked first among Turkey's pig iron import sources in the period in question, followed by Ukraine which supplied 90,110 mt, down 61.43 percent year on year.
