In July this year, Turkey's pig iron imports amounted to 85,683 mt, up 86.7 percent year on year, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). The total value of Turkey's pig iron imports in the given month increased by 152.3 percent year on year to $30 million.
In the first seven months of the current year, Turkey's pig iron imports decreased by 28.8 percent to 472,800 mt, while the revenue from these imports amounted to $161.2 million, up 3.5 percent, both year on year.
In the given period, Turkey imported 266,340 metric tons of pig iron from Russia, up 10.8 percent year on year. Russia ranked first among Turkey's pig iron import sources in the period in question, followed by Ukraine which supplied 124,253 mt, down 68.1 percent year on year.
