According to the customs statistics provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in May this year Turkey's pig iron imports amounted to 38,752 metric tons, decreasing by 27.37 percent as compared to April this year.
In May, Turkey's average pig iron import price stood at $543.57/mt, declining by 0.83 percent or $4.58/mt compared to the previous month.
In January-May period Turkey's average pig iron import price stood at $522/mt increasing by 21.89 percent or $93/mt compared to the same period last year.
Turkey's top pig iron source in May this year was Russia which exported 38,602 mt of pig iron to Turkey.
