Turkey’s passenger car sales up 19.5 percent in H1

According to the statistics released by the Turkish Automotive distributor Association (ODD), in the first half of this year Turkey's domestic passenger car market increased by 19.5 percent compared to the same period last year, with sales increasing to 292,106 units. In June, domestic sales of passenger cars totaled 58,290 units, contracting 6.6 percent compared to the previous month and up 15 percent compared to June 2012.
 
In the first half, sales of light commercial vehicles declined by 6.8 percent compared to the first six months of last year, falling to 89,637 units. In June, sales of light commercial vehicles totaled 15,806 units, down 17.2 percent compared to May this year and falling 21.8 percent year on year.
