Nursan, one of Turkey's leading longs mills, has complied with CARES' (Certificating Authority for Reinforcing Steels) relevant quality standards and recently been approved by CARES. Thus, the company has obtained the right to perform exports to countries that buy UK CARES BS 4449 standard products. In addition, it is reported that the transaction regarding the approval of the DCL (Dubai Central Laboratory) will be finalized within the current week.

Concerning the certificate, a Nursan official said, "In the first place, CARES will be our reference in many countries and it will in particular enable us to become an important player in the most active markets - e.g. Dubai and other Gulf countries. It will also allow us to have access in the UK market."

Nursan produces 1.2 million mt rebar per annum and exports 70 percent of this tonnage to overseas markets.
