Turkey's motor vehicle production regresses in July

According to the monthly statistics released by the Turkish Automotive Manufacturers' Association (OSD), in July this year Turkey's motor vehicle output totaled 83,795 units, decreasing by five percent year on year and down by 19.61 percent over the month of June.
 
In July, Turkey's passenger car output totaled 47,516 units - down 13 percent, its commercial vehicle production reached 33,013 units - up four percent, while tractor production amounted to 3,226 units - up 103 percent, all compared to July 2009.

The overall production capacity utilization rate of the Turkish automotive industry in July this year was 64 percent, down from 80 percent recorded in June.
 
Meanwhile, in the first seven months of this year, the country's total motor vehicle output amounted to 645,022 units, up 32 percent year on year: passenger car output totaled 359,998 units, while commercial vehicle production reached 267,553 units, increasing respectively by 20 percent and 49 percent compared to the corresponding period of 2009.
