Turkey's motor vehicle output up 16 percent in June

According to the monthly statistics released by the Turkish Automotive Manufacturers' Association (OSD), in June this year Turkey's motor vehicle output totaled 104,237 units, increasing by 16 percent year on year and up by 3.22 percent over the month of May.
 
In June, Turkey's passenger car output totaled 54,660 units - up two percent, its commercial vehicle production reached 46,734 units - up 34 percent, while tractor production amounted to 2,843 units - up 98 percent, all compared to June 2009.
 
The overall production capacity utilization rate of the Turkish automotive industry in June this year was 80 percent, up from 78 percent recorded in May.
 
Meanwhile, in the first half of this year, the country's total motor vehicle output amounted to 561,229 units, up 40 percent year on year: passenger car output totaled 312,482 units, while commercial vehicle production reached 234,540 units, increasing respectively by 27 percent and 59 percent compared to the corresponding period of 2009.
