According to the monthly statistics released by the Turkish Automotive Manufacturers' Association (OSD), in October this year Turkey's motor vehicle output totaled 93,364 units, decreasing by 14 percent year on year and down 9.1 percent compared to September this year.
In October, Turkey's passenger car output totaled 51,226 units - down 15 percent, its commercial vehicle production amounted to 39,447 units - down 14 percent, while tractor production amounted to 2,691 units - down 35 percent, all compared to October 2011.
The overall production capacity utilization rate of the Turkish automotive industry in October this year was 68 percent, down from 75 percent recorded in September this year. In the first 10 months of the year, the production capacity utilization rate was also 68 percent.
Meanwhile, in the first 10 months of this year, the country's total motor vehicle output amounted to 922,032 units, down 10 percent year on year. Passenger car output in the given period totaled 479,420, while commercial vehicle production stood at 405,226 units, decreasing by 11 percent and 10 percent respectively, both compared to the corresponding period of 2011.
