According to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in the second quarter of the current year Turkey's total longitudindally welded tube and profile exports amounted to 129,730 mt, down 1.4 percent compared to the previous quarter and up 3.7 percent compared to the same period of 2012. In the first half of the year, Turkey's longitudindally welded tube and profile exports increased by 1.7 percent compared to the first half of 2012, amounting to 261,054 mt.
In the first half this year, Turkey's largest export destination for the product in question was the US with 53,805 mt, though the figure was down 6.1 percent compared to the same half of the previous year. In the first half of the current year, Turkey's longitudindally welded tube and profile exports to Iraq amounted to 35,629 mt, rising 40.6 percent year on year. Turkey's longitudinally welded tube and profile exports to the EU decreased to 115,292 mt in the period in question, down 9.6 percent on year-on-year basis.
In June this year, Turkey's longitudinally welded tube and profile exports totaled 56,378 mt, up for the consecutive second month on month-on-month basis, increasing 43 percent compared to the previous month and up 24 percent compared to June 2012. In June, the increase in the country's longitudinally welded tube and profile exports was mainly due to the 25,241 mt of exports to the US, following two months of zero exports to the country, with the volume in question almost triple on year-on-year basis.

On the other hand, in the first half this year Turkey's spirally welded pipe exports totaled 76,932 mt, falling 12.4 percent compared to the same period of the previous year, due to the very low level recorded in the first quarter of this year. The country's spirally welded pipe exports rose 62.6 percent in the second quarter of the year compared to the first quarter and were up 6.5 percent year on year.
Meanwhile, in the first half this year Turkey's total angle, shape and section exports amounted to 820,395 mt, falling eight percent compared to the same half of the previous year, increasing in the second quarter of the year on quarter-on-quarter basis.
