Turkey’s HRC exports up 60 percent in Q1

In March this year, Turkey's total hot rolled coil (HRC) exports increased by 44 percent year on year to 183,589 metric tons, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). These exports had a value of $56.1 million, falling by one percent compared to the same month of the previous year.

In the first three months, Turkey's HRC exports amounted to 419,387 mt, up 60 percent, while the value of these exports remained unchanged at $130.11 million, both compared to the same period of 2015.

In the first quarter of the current year, Egypt ranked first among Turkey's HRC export destinations, with its HRC imports from Turkey amounting to 96,091 mt, followed by Italy which received 66,916 mt of HRC from Turkey in the given period.
