Turkey’s HR flat steel exports up 34 percent in Jan over Dec

According to the statistics provided by Turkey's Steel Exporters' Association (CIB), in January this year Turkey's total hot rolled flat steel exports amounted to 65,992 metric tons, decreasing by 34.45 percent year on year and up 34 percent compared to the previous month of December. Meanwhile, the revenue generated by these exports totaled $46.2 million, falling by 29.4 percent compared to January 2011 and increasing by 26.5 percent over the previous month.
Turkey's hot rolled flat steel exports to Italy, which was the largest hot rolled flat steel export destination of Turkey in 2011 accounting for 44 percent of total Turkish HR flat steel exports, decreased significantly in January compared to the same month of 2011.
On the other hand, in January Turkey's cold rolled flat steel exports stood at 7,891 metric tons, decreasing by 21.75 percent compared to the previous month and down 30.32 percent year on year.
