Turkey’s GDP down by 6.2 percent in constant prices in Q4 2008

Turkey's State Institute of Statistics (SIS) has announced that the national gross domestic product (GDP) in the fourth quarter of 2008 indicated a 5.7 percent increase to TRY 232,149 million ($139,297 million) in current prices and a 6.2 percent decrease to TRY 24,448 million ($14,673 million) in constant prices, both compared to the same quarter in the previous year.

Meanwhile, Turkey's annual gross domestic product in 2008 has increased by 12.7 percent to TRY 950,144 million ($570,761 million) in current prices and 1.1 percent to TRY 102,328 million ($61,469 million) in constant prices, compared to 2007.
