Turkey’s finished steel output and consumption rise in January

In January, finished steel output in Turkey increased by 12.7 percent year on year to 3.24 million mt, according to a report issued by the Turkish Steel Producers' Association (TCUD). 
 
As stated in the report, in January Turkey's long product output totaled 2.04 million mt, increasing by 7.4 percent, and its flat product output grew by 22.9 percent to 1.2 million mt, both on year-on-year basis. 
                                            
Finished steel consumption in Turkey in January rose by 4.4 percent year on year to 2.89 million mt. 
 
In the given month, long products and flat products accounted for 42.2 percent and 57.8 percent of Turkey’s finished steel consumption, respectively. In January, Turkish consumption of long products rose by 3.2 percent to 1.22 million mt, while consumption of flat steel products was up by 5.2 percent to 1.67 million mt, both year on year.
