Turkey’s exports growth continues

Turkey's exports amounted to $6.8 billion in April, up 14.59% year on year, according to the data released by the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TIM). Exports totaled $23.4 billion in the first four months of 2005, up 22.9% year on year. 12-months' exports also rose 29% year on year to $68.3 billion. Turkey exported $664 million agricultural products in April, up 10.9% from a year earlier. Industrial exports rose 13.6% year on year to $5.29 billion. Exports of textile and ready-to-wear indicated a slowdown in April due to China's cheap textile products. Textile exports rose only 9% to $440 million last month while ready-to-wear exports increased 10.5% to $1.15 billion. Automotive exports maintained their upward trend, rising 25.3% to $1.12 billion.
