Turkey-based Erdemoğlu Welded Wire Fabric Construction Industry and Trade Co Ltd. (Erdemoglu) has told SteelOrbis that it will produce primarily steel mesh as well as cold drawn deformed and plain bars with an overall annual capacity of 35,000 metric tons, in its new plant located in Aliaga, Izmir in western Turkey. Erdemoglu's new project, which was started on February 16, commenced production in the first week of June this year.
In response to SteelOrbis' questions, Onur Ucar from Erdemoğlu said that the new plant will enjoy the advantages of being located in an intensive steel industry zone, close to port facilities. The company plans to source its raw materials from Aliaga, Canakkale, Gebze and also from imports.
Erdemoglu intends to sell steel mesh mostly to African and Arab countries.
