Turkey’s CUR up to 74.9% in February

Turkey's capacity utilization rate (CUR) in the manufacturing industry rose from 73.5% in February 2004 to 74.9% in February 2005, indicate data from Turkey's State Institute of Statistics (DIE). CUR in the private sector climbed from 73.5% to 76.5%; However, CUR in the public sector fell to 68.2% year-on-year. CUR for automotive output rose from 66.9% to 79.5%, for machinery output from 74.2% to 78.8%and for non-metallic minerals from 61.8% to 76%. The CUR in textiles rose from 76.3% to 80.6%. The increase in the private manufacturing industry, together with the increase in working days, translated into a double-digit increase in industrial output for February.
