Turkey’s crude steel output up 12.8 percent in January

According to a statement released by the Turkish Steel Producers' Association (TCUD), Turkish crude steel output in January this year increased by 3.3 percent month on month and was up by 12.8 percent year on year to 2.93 million mt. In the given month, Turkey’s crude steel output by electric arc furnaces rose by 13.9 percent, while crude steel output by integrated plants increased by 10.6 percent, both year on year.
 
In January this year, Turkey's billet output increased by 3.6 percent to 1.97 million metric tons, while its slab output rose by 38.2 percent to 955,000 metric tons, both on year-on-year basis.
