According to a statement released by the Turkish Steel Producers' Association (TCUD), Turkish crude steel output in November this year decreased by 2.1 percent month on month and was up by 10.4 percent year on year to 2.91 million mt. In the given month, Turkey’s crude steel output by electric arc furnaces rose by 15.4 percent, while crude steel output by integrated plants increased by 1.5 percent, both year on year.
Meanwhile, in the January-November period of this year, Turkey's crude steel production increased by 5.1 percent year on year to 30.33 million metric tons. In the given period, Turkey's crude steel output by electric arc furnaces rose by 6.5 percent to 20 million metric tons, while production by integrated plants increased by 2.5 percent to 10.33 million metric tons, both year on year.
In the first eleven months of this year, Turkey's billet output decreased by 0.5 percent to 21.17 million metric tons, while its slab output rose by 21 percent to 9.15 million metric tons, both on year-on-year basis.
Supported by November crude steel production, Turkey’s crude steel production in 2016 will probably exceed 33 million mt.
