In April this year, Turkey's cold rolled coil (CRC) imports totaled 57,648 metric tons, decreasing by 30.94 percent compared to the same month of 2013 and down 14.59 percent month on month, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). The value of these imports was $40.41 million, decreasing by 30.42 percent year on year and down 12.32 percent month on month.
Meanwhile, in the first four months of this year, Turkey's CRC imports increased by 13.37 percent to 252,291 metric tons, while the value of these imports totaled $174.21 million, up 11.79 percent, both on year-on-year basis.
In the first four months of the current year, Russia ranked first among Turkey's CRC import sources, supplying 105,380 metric tons, down 17.07 percent year on year. Meanwhile, in the given period, Turkey's CRC imports from Ukraine surged to 46,547 metric tons, compared to 11,614 metric tons in January-April 2013. Also, in the first four months of this year, Spain's CRC exports to Turkey amounted to 26,278 metric tons, up from just 326 metric tons in the same period last year.
