According to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in October this year Turkey's cold rolled sheet imports totaled 1,025 metric tons, increasing by 7.67 percent compared to same month of previous year and up 463.19 percent month on month. The value of these imports was $680,176, decreasing by 14.20 percent year on year and up 680.46 percent month on month.
In the first 10 months of this year, Turkey's CR sheet imports amounted to 10,532 metric tons, decreasing by 19.34 percent, with a value of $7.01 million, down 28.37 percent, both year on year.
In the January-October period of this year, Turkey's CR sheet imports from Ukraine recorded a strong rise of 72.78 percent year on year and reached 4,266 metric tons. Ukraine was thus Turkey's leading CR sheet import source in the given period, ahead of Slovakia. Meanwhile, Romania, which was the biggest CR sheet import source for Turkey in the first 10 months of 2012, saw a strong fall in its CR sheet exports to Turkey in the corresponding period of the current year.
