In May this year, Turkey's coking coal imports decreased by 24.55 percent year on year to 409,614 mt, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). Meanwhile, the value of these imports increased by 41.45 percent to $64.4 million compared to the corresponding month of the previous year.
In the first five months of the current year, Turkey's coking coal imports increased by 7.65 percent to 2.37 million mt, while the revenue from these imports amounted to $458.32 million, up 133.44 percent, both year on year.
In the given period, Turkey's coking coal imports from the US amounted to 857,085 mt, while coking coal imports from Australia totaled 730,085 mt.
