In February this year, Turkey's coking coal imports decreased by 2.3 percent month on month to 529,492 mt, up by four percent year on year, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). Meanwhile, the value of these imports increased by 1.6 percent to $111.77 million compared to the previous month and was up 120.6 percent year on year.
In the first two months of the current year, Turkey's coking coal imports increased by 40.7 percent to 1.07 million mt, while the revenue from these imports amounted to $221.82 million, up 201.2 percent, both year on year.
In the given period, Turkey's coking coal imports from the US amounted to 423,285 mt, while coking coal imports from Australia totaled 321,436 mt.
