In July this year, Turkey's coking coal imports totaled 387,101 mt, down 43.39 percent year on year and decreasing by 10.74 percent on month-on-month basis, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). Meanwhile, the value of these imports was $50.65 million, down 55.34 percent year on year and decreasing by 10.59 percent month on month.
In the first seven months of this year, Turkey's coking coal imports decreased by 2.53 percent to 3.17 million metric tons, while the value of these imports totaled $446.06 million, down 15.54 percent, both on year-on-year basis.
In July this year, Turkey's coking coal imports from the US decreased by 66.96 percent to 148,007 mt, while coking coal imports from Australia increased by 45.55 percent to 239,094 mt, both on year-on-year basis. Meanwhile, in the first seven months of this year Turkey's coking coal imports from the US increased by 13.81 percent year on year to 2.41 million mt. The US was followed by Canada with 329,393 mt of coking coal exports to Turkey in the given period.
