In the first quarter of 2010, Turkish steel
wire and rope producer Celik Halat ve Tel Sanayii A.S. produced 11,745 metric tons of steel products, 58.61 percent higher compared to the company's Q1 2009 output.
In the given quarter, the producer's steel rope output totaled 1,971 metric tons, rising by 36.4 percent, its galvanized
wire production amounted to 244 metric tons, up 69.44 percent, spring
wire output climbed by 111.72 percent to 1,120 metric tons, its bead
wire production increased by 28.36 percent to 2,539 metric tons, the company's single strand rope output saw a drop of 98.83 percent to 10 metric tons, while its pre-stressed
wire strand
production totaled 5,861 metric tons, up 138.93 percent, all compared to the first quarter of 2009.
In Q1 2010, product sales of Celik Halat ve Tel Sanayi improved by 52.91 percent year on year to 11,759 metric tons. In the given period, exports accounted for 40.44 percent of the total sales, compared to 29.94 percent in the corresponding period of 2009.
The company's net sales revenue in Q1 2010 amounted to TRY 21.44 million ($14.46 million), rising by 9.82 percent year on year, while its profit for the period totaled TRY 1.17 million ($788,870), compared to a loss of TRY 2.83 million in Q1 2009.
