Turkey’s billet imports up 60.3 percent in January-September

In September this year, Turkey's billet and bloom import volume increased by 110.2 percent year on year to 544,546 metric tons, down 2.16 percent compared to the previous month according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). The value of these imports totaled $189.34 million, up 33.9 percent year on year and falling by nine percent month on month.


 
In the January-September period this year, Turkey's billet and bloom import volume increased by 60.3 percent year on year to 3.6 million metric tons, while the value of these imports totaled $1.43 billion, up 17.87 percent year on year.
 
In the January-September period, Turkey imported 1,211,304 mt of billet and bloom from Ukraine, 0.27 percent higher year on year, with Ukraine ranking first among Turkey's main billet and bloom import sources, ahead of Russia which supplied 1,184,808 mt in the given period, up 63.45 percent year on year.
