Turkey's basic metals turnover up 16.5 percent in August

According to the statistics released by the Turkish Statistics Institute (TUIK), Turkey's monthly industrial turnover index in August this year increased by 11.7 percent year on year and was down 0.7 percent month on month, following the 12.4 percent year-on-year increase recorded in July.

In August, the industrial turnover index for the manufacture of basic metals in Turkey increased by 16.5 percent year on year and registered a 0.4 percent fall from the previous month, after an increase of 5.4 percent in July compared to June. In August of the current year, the industrial turnover index for fabricated metal product manufacturing, except machinery and equipment, in Turkey increased by 5.1 percent year on year and decreased by 5.5 percent from the previous month.
