According to the statistics released by the Turkish Statistics Institute (TUIK), Turkey's monthly industrial turnover index in March this year increased by 18.2 percent year on year and was down 2.7 percent month on month, following the 20.3 percent year-on-year increase recorded in February.
In March, the industrial turnover index for the manufacture of basic metals in Turkey increased by 18.6 percent year on year and registered a 4.5 percent fall from the previous month, after a decrease of 2.3 percent in February compared to January. In March of the current year, the industrial turnover index for fabricated metal product manufacturing, except machinery and equipment, in Turkey increased by 23.0 percent year on year and decreased by 4.1 percent from the previous month.
