Turkey's basic metal production up eight percent in January

According to the data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in January this year Turkey's season and calendar adjusted monthly industrial production increased by 1.1 percent compared to December, while the calendar adjusted index was up 7.3 percent compared to January 2013. The year-on-year increase constitutes the biggest rise in industrial production in the last 27 months.
 
In January, the season and calendar adjusted production index for the manufacture of basic metals in Turkey decreased by 1.8 percent month on month, while the calendar adjusted index for the manufacture of basic metals was up eight percent from January 2013.
 
The output index for the manufacture of fabricated metal products in January rose by 5.2 percent month on month and was up by 4.6 percent year on year.
