According to the data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in December last year Turkey's season and calendar adjusted monthly industrial production index remained unchanged compared to the previous month, while the calendar adjusted index was up 7.1 percent year on year.
In December, the calendar adjusted production index for the manufacture of basic metals in Turkey rose 9.5 percent year on year, while the season and calendar adjusted index for the manufacture of basic metals was up 0.6 percent from the previous month.
The output index for the manufacture of fabricated metal products in December rose by 4.3 percent year on year and was down by 6.3 percent compared to the previous month.
The annual average production increase of the basic metal industry in Turkey was 5.3 percent in 2013, unchanged from the average recorded in 2012, but down from the average of 10.4 percent recorded in 2011. In fabricated metal products manufacturing, the average rise of the production index was 3.8 percent in 2013, below the 5.8 percent recorded in 2012 and the 19.4 percent average of 2011.
