Turkey's automotive sales up three percent in April from March

In April this year, sales of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles in Turkey decreased by 10.5 percent year on year and were up by three percent month on month to 75,988 units, according to the statistics released by the Turkish Automotive Distributors Association (ODD). In the given month, domestic sales of passenger cars in Turkey decreased by 11.6 percent year on year and were up by 4.3 percent month on month to 57,998 units, while sales of light commercial vehicles decreased by 6.6 percent year on year and were down by 1.1 percent month on month to 17,990 units.
 
Meanwhile, in the January-April period of this year domestic sales of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles saw a decrease of 8.4 percent year on year, amounting to 232,078 units. In the given period, domestic sales of passenger cars in the country decreased by 10.1 percent to 173,961 units, while sales of light commercial vehicles fell by 2.9 percent to 58,117 units, both on year-on-year basis.
