Turkey's automotive sales down 2.5 percent in June from May

In June this year, sales of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles in Turkey increased by 6.25 percent year on year and were down by 2.5 percent month on month to 91,540 units, according to the statistics released by the Turkish Automotive Distributors Association (ODD). In the given month, domestic sales of passenger cars in Turkey increased by 4.94 percent year on year and were down by 3.7 percent month on month to 71,111 units, while sales of light commercial vehicles increased by 11.08 percent year on year and were up by 1.7 percent month on month to 20,429 units.
 
Meanwhile, in the first half of this year domestic sales of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles saw an increase of 1.45 percent year on year, amounting to 438,817 units. In the given period, domestic sales of passenger cars in the country increased by 3.24 percent to 338,482 units, while sales of light commercial vehicles fell by 4.17 percent to 100,335 units, both on year-on-year basis.
