Turkey's automotive sales down 23.5% in January-July

In the first seven months this year, sales of passenger cars and commercial vehicles in Turkey decreased by 23.51 percent year on year to 346,768 units, according to the statistics released by the Turkish Automotive Distributors Association (ODD). In the given period, domestic sales of passenger cars in Turkey decreased by 21.69 percent to 272,375 units, while sales of commercial vehicles fell by 29.5 percent to 74,393 units, both on year-on-year basis.
 
Meanwhile, in July this year domestic sales of passenger cars and commercial vehicles decreased by 16.33 percent year on year and decreased by 0.43 percent month on month to 59,907 units. In the given month, domestic sales of passenger cars in the country decreased by 16.35 percent year on year to 46,602 units and decreased by 1.43 percent month on month, while sales of commercial vehicles fell by 16.24 percent year on year to 13,305 units and were up 3.26 percent month on month.
