According to a notice released in the Official Journal today, The Turkish Undersecretariat of the Prime Ministry for Foreign Trade (DTM), upon the request of domestic producer Celik Halat ve Tel Sanayi A.S, will initiate an antidumping investigation into stranded wire, ropes and cables imported from China and Russia since the current measures against the subject merchandise are claimed to be inefficient. On December 1, 2004, the DTM imposed an antidumping measure at 1 US Dollar/kg on subject merchandise imported from China, and at 0.5 US Dollar/kg on subject merchandise imported from Russia. However, since Celik Halat ve Tel Sanayi A.S, the domestic producer of subject merchandise, demanded that the DTM initiate an investigation, claiming that the measures are no longer effective, the DTM decided to initiate a review for the subject goods. The investigation will be conducted by Turkish Undersecretariat of the Prime Ministry for Foreign Trade Import Administration. Interested parties are required to submit their responses to the related agencies.
