Toyota plans to increase US exports

Japanese automaker Toyota Motor Corp. plans to increase its exports to the US by 40% to 1.1 million vehicles by 2007 to meet the growing demand for small cars and hybrid vehicles. World's second-largest carmaker Toyota considers to increase its small car exports in which the big three US automakers are weak, as well as its popular gas-electric hybrid vehicles. According to a company official, Toyota has planned to export 850'000 vehicles to the US in 2005, an increase of 12% year on year.
