Tonghua Steel’s first ore shipment from IMX Resources arrives in China

On January 9, the first shipment of ore for Jilin Province-based Chinese steelmaker Tonghua Iron and Steel mined by Australian miner IMX Resources arrived at Bayuquan port, Liaoning Province, China. The shipment of ore in question consists of 68,053 mt of iron ore, copper and gold, which will be delivered to Tonghua Iron and Steel by Chinese steel trader Sichuan Taifeng Co.

As SteelOrbis previously reported, private sector Chinese steel trader Sichuan Taifeng spent $47 million on a 19.9 percent stake in South Australian iron ore miner IMX Resources and a 50 percent stake in IMX's Cairn Hill magnetite iron ore, copper and gold project.
