Tonghua Steel's cold rolling project to see completion in 2009

China's Jilin Province-based steelmaker Tonghua Steel (Tonggang) has reported continuing smooth progress in the construction of its cold rolling project. Up to the end of September this year a total of RMB 850 million ($113 million) had been invested in the project. 

The first stage of the project will commence production at the end of September 2008, while the entire project will be completed and commissioned by the end of May 2009.

The plant to be built within the scope of the project will have a production capacity of one million metric tons per annum. This figure will consist of 300,000 metric tons of cold rolled coils, 300,000 metric tons of hot dip galvanized coils and 400,000 metric tons of non-oriented electrical steel.
