TMK to double premium pipe production in 2008

The Russian pipe producer TMK Group (TMK) has announced plans to double its production of premium threaded tubing, casing and drill pipes to 24,000 metric tons in 2008. This project will be implemented by TMK Premium Service, a division of TMK which focuses on strengthening the company's position in both Russian domestic and international markets.

In addition, TMK is planning install new threaded lines at its pipe rolling subsidiaries Taganrog, Volzhsky and Sinarsky Pipe Plants in order to cope with rising demand for premium threaded oil and gas pipes. The annual production capacity of the pipes in question is to increase to 130,000 metric tons upon the completion of the project by 2010.
