The Russian pipe producer TMK Group (TMK) has announced that in October this year it increased its shipments of pipes by 25.5 percent year on year to 315,000 mt.

The increase in the October shipment volume was due to capacity growth, resulting from the consolidation of production assets in the US and Kazakhstan in the middle of 2008.

Moreover, despite the low demand in the utilities, construction and machine building sectors, TMK has strengthened its position in the domestic market, thanks to its core oil and gas pipe production. Thus, the producer's pipe shipments to Russian consumers compared to total shipments increased from 31.6 percent in September this year to 34.9 percent in October.
