Russia's largest oil and gas pipe producer TMK has announced that its division TMK-Premium Service has commenced shipments of TMK-PF ET premium threaded casing connections to one of Russia's largest oil and gas companies Surgutneftegas.

The initial shipment totaled 120 mt of TMK-PF ET casing with 168 mm diameter and 8.94 mm wall thickness, intended for use in highly-deviated and horizontal wells in complex geological structures. The deal also includes TMK-Premium Service's supply of TMK-GF premium connections and technical assistance during operations. The total shipment volume of premium-class products to be delivered to Surgutneftegas is expected to surpass 800 mt by the end of the 2008.

Under the terms of the long-term strategic partnership agreement concluded between two companies, in 2007 TMK shipped to Surgutneftegas a total of 187,300 mt of pipe products, including premium connections, and plans to supply about 205,000 mt of tubular goods in 2008.
